Riding Experience – 26 years, Industry Experience – 20 years

My motorcycle journey started pretty late compared to most riders. I did not get my first motorcycle until I was 20 years old and it was a 1980 Vespa p200 2-stroke four-speed scooter. The scooter was a ton of fun, and I learned a lot while I had it (mainly how to keep a Vespa running), and that is what really started my obsession with motorcycles. I got my first sport bike a year later – an old Honda CBR600 that had been crashed multiple times. After repairing all the damage on that bike, I rode it for years! Around that same time, I got an old Honda XL 250 that was (of course!) not running. After cleaning the carburetor, changing the oil, and replacing the spark plug, I took it out for a cruise offroad, and have been hooked on trail riding ever since. I also have a 1979 Yamaha YZ250 that I stripped down and replaced or rebuilt all of the mechanical pieces and turned it into an awesome vintage race bike. The vintage motocross crowd is a really fun group of people that want to get out and just have fun on old motorcycles.

I spent many years in powersports dealerships – from Parts Advisor to General Manager and everything in between – and saw that many people in dealerships are (unfortunately) not that excited about working in the industry. I have owned many motorcycles from classic vespas, sport bikes, dual-sport bikes, and motocross bikes and am truly passionate about motorsports. I decided to open my own shop to focus on the fun and building relationships with customers that should always be an enjoyable perk of this industry. Here at Rogue Moto AZ, we do not look at customers as dollar signs, but instead focus on providing quality service, forging relationships, and sharing entertaining stories.

ZAK GABBERT

ASSISTANT MANAGER / LEAD TECHNICIAN

Riding Experience – 27 years, Mechanic Experience – 15 years

I have been riding motorcycles since I was a small child. Motorcycle racing is important to my family as well as the future of the industry. We can usually be found at races on weekends, running the pits, or completing repairs. Or maybe just riding for the fun of the ride. From the mountains of Prescott to the deserts of Nevada, we're smiling and having a great time on two wheels!

As a technician, I have more than 15 years’ experience and a wide variety of brand knowledge, including Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Husaberg, Husqvarna, as well as factory training for KTM, BMW, and Triumph.

My personal collection has included multiple KTM models, vintage Kawasaki motocross and TT models, vintage CZ race bike, and Suzuki street bikes. Many, many motorcycles have come and gone throughout the years (and have a special place in my heart). I like to think I have a wide range of knowledge and real-world experience!
